Google’s search liaison Danny Sullivan announced the rolling out a new Google core update named June 2021 core update on Wednesday. He further added that another update is planned for July 2021.
Over time, Google core algorithm releases update about every six months.
Why Two core updates?
Google reports that some of its planned June 2021 updates are not fully complete. To proceed with the ready parts today, Google decided to push the rest out in the July 2021 core update next month.
“Of course, any core update can produce drops or gains for some content. Because of the two-part nature of this release, it’s possible a very small slice of content might see changes in June that reverse in July,” informed Google.
Expectations
You may or may not see a subtle change in your Google ranking. For example, there’s a chance that the June 2021 core update will make you less productive, but the July 2021 core update might reverse the effect.
As stated by Google, most sites will not notice the changes, but search engine optimizations that manage many websites are likely to notice a lot of changes in the Google search results.
It will take about two weeks for the update to arrive globally, including in other languages.

Roll-out began later today. As of today, Google will begin rolling out its June 2021 core update. According to Google, upgrades typically take about a week to roll out fully.
Before May 2020, there was a core update in December 201, which was even larger than May 2020. Before that was the January 2020 core update, The one before that was the September 2019 core update. Most SEOs and web admins felt that that update was weaker, as it did not have the same impact as previous core updates. The update released in November targeted local ranking.

If a core update negatively impacted your site in the past, Google has provided a list of questions to consider if a core update hits your site. You may figure out a bit of recovery, but the major change would only be visible after the next core update.
Why does Google roll out these updates?
Google also wrote a blog post explaining how and why it is changing its search algorithm as part of the June 2021 core update. As stated by Google, they receive billions of daily queries in 150 languages from countries throughout the world. Therefore, staying competitive and meeting the needs of its audience requires it to improve.
“Delivering great results at this type of scale and complexity requires many different systems, and we’re always looking for ways to improve these systems so we can display the most useful results possible. “As new sites emerge and the web changes, continued updates are key to ensuring we’re supporting a wide range of publishers, creators and businesses while providing searchers with the best information available,” Google added.
Google is constantly pushing out updates because of this. Moreover, Google has indicated that in any given week, it may “implement dozens of updates that are meant to improve Search in incremental ways.” Thus the company cannot “share details about all” of the updates. Nevertheless, when there are major updates like these, Google will try to announce them. Your site can be impacted positively or negatively whenever Google updates its search ranking algorithms. Therefore, it would be best to keep an eye on your analytics and rankings today since Google will be releasing a core ranking update.
